Principal’s Emergency Fund Breakfast

Held since 2008, our annual breakfast benefits the Principal’s Emergency Fund (PEF). The PEF allows every school in the district to quickly meet urgent basic needs of low-income students. Last school year alone, principals utilized more than $43,000 to: supply seasonally appropriate clothing, proper fitting shoes, eye glasses, groceries and bus passes; ensure heat and water were not shut off in students’ homes; provide emergency shelter for families facing dire circumstances; and pay rent to save families from eviction.

Thank you for considering being a sponsor of the fourth-annual golf tournament benefiting the Olympia School District Education Foundation’s (OSDEF) Principal’s Emergency Fund, which helps low-income students and their families with urgent basic needs.

Last school year alone, principals spent more than $43,000 of these funds to, among things: supply seasonally appropriate clothing, proper fitting shoes, eye glasses, groceries and bus passes; ensure heat and water were not shut off in students’ homes; provide emergency shelter for families facing dire circumstances; and pay rent so families could stay in their homes. Many principals have disclosed this school year that the price tags associated with individual PEF requests have been greater than ever. You can learn more about the initiative here.

We are beyond grateful that Mike and Kandra Barrett stepped in this year to save the tournament, which will be held Sunday, Aug. 25, at the Olympia Golf & Country Club. As in years past, it will be a four-player scramble.

As the OSDEF is a 501 (c) 3 charity organization, any donations made to the organization are tax-deductible. For your records, our Federal Tax ID number is 91-1914331.

We appreciate your willingness to consider contributing to the tournament so we can continue to remove barriers and enhance educational success for all Olympia School District students.
